Siebel EIM Process – Running EIM Process Using GUI

<< Previous Post of this Series                                                                                              Next Post of this Series >>

In previous post “Siebel EIM Process – Running EIM ProcessUsing Command Line” of this series, we discussed about to EIM Process and how we can run EIM process through command line. Today will learn how we can run EIM process though GUI.
To run an EIM process from GUI, you need to follow the below steps-

Ø  Navigate to Administration - Server Management > Jobs.
Ø  In the Jobs list Applet, click “New” button to create a job.
Ø  Now you need to select “Enterprise Integration Mgr” component for the job. To select the component click on pick applet icon and query for “EIM” against “Short Name”. The moment you hit “Go” button, pick applet get closed and “Enterprise Integration Mgr” gets populated in the field.

Ø  Now select the Job Parameters, which will be used by the EIM Process. To select the Job Parameters scroll down till the end and select Parameters which are showing in below screen shot.
Ø  Now you are ready to run your EIM Job. To run the job, go back to Jobs list Applet again by scrolling up and click on “Submit Job” button. Now refresh the applet by simply running blank query and wait for the job to get finished. After submitting the job, status will keep changing from “Creating” to “Queued”, “Queued” to “Active”, ”Active” to “Success” or “Error”.

Now you must be thinking, if flag values need to set zero then why even bother to select these flags. Actually you need to provide values and your log varies depending on these values. In our next post “Siebel EIM Process – Trace Flags, SQL Trace Flags and Error Flags” will discuss about the flag’s values and how they impact our logs too.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome… Happy Siebeling… J
